Some things are hard to explain. Even if it makes sense in your head, you can’t really put it into words. Do you guys remember that insane ad for Prop 8 where that girl was like “you know I’m too stupid to have formed a morally defensible position on why I hate equal rights for gay people, don’t make me talk about it”? That’s kind of what I’m talking about, but maybe not being such a stupid idiot as that girl. You know, those moments where words don’t quite cut it. They complicate things.
For example, if you were to direct a movie called The Minis, about an underdog basketball team made up of Dennis Rodman AND MIDGETS, you wouldn’t want to have to talk about it. Once you start talking about it, then there’s all these questions that you have to answer, like “WHAT?” And “WHY?” And “Dennis Rodman?” And “Midgets?” And trust me, if you were to direct a movie called The Minis about an underdog basketball team made up of Dennis Rodman AND MIDGETS, those are not questions you want to have to answer because they are unanswerable.
