At what point does it stop being “preaching to the choir” and start being “annoying even to the choir”? From Variety:
Michael Moore is making a sequel to “Fahrenheit 9/11″ for Paramount Vantage and Overture Films, who will shop the project to international buyers when the Cannes Film Festival and market get under way today.
I would be fine with Michael Moore making a movie about the War in Iraq, or the aftermath of the occupation, or Abu Ghraib. There’s just something about the fact that it’s being shopped around as a sequel that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like someone shoved their ink stained fingers in there after a long night mimeographing their manifesto on the quad, rooting around for some easy pizza money. Can we all just agree that we want the world to be a better place and that we remain hopeful despite being unsure how to go about affecting real change, but that also activism sucks. I’m sorry, it’s just that if even the people who agree with you feel like you should give it a rest, it doesn’t seem possible that the Others are going to feel much better about it. Michael Moore’s music is too loud, and he needs a haircut. Uh oh. I’m clearly going to be a Republican when I grow up.
