Andrea Balency – “Waterfalls”

Andrea Balency – “Waterfalls”

Heartbeats. Synthy R&B production. Impossibly perfect, breathy vocals. Andrea Balency has it all, and sometimes she has it all in perfect French. (Balency’s heritage is French and Mexican.) So you might be sick of atmospheric R&B that sounds like the aural version of an abstract painting, but you’re going to have to listen to this. “Waterfalls” is a glossy, sorrowful song that taps into the darkly bewitching power of feminine energy, even if the waterfalls metaphor is played out. It will be on Balency’s forthcoming EP Volcano, which I’m really hoping has something fiery and explosive on it to counteract these languid vibes. Listen below.

Volcano is out 3/16 via Bataille Music.
