The National – “Sunshine On My Back”

The National are getting in on this whole “surprise music” thing. No, they haven’t shared an entire new album, but an unannounced single called “Sunshine On My Back” appeared online today. Its sound isn’t going to shock you, but you’ll probably be awed by how well this band continues to derive genius from its finely tuned aesthetic. “Sunshine on my back is the only kind I like,” Matt Berninger sings. “Sunshine in my brain is the lonely kind of pain.” National fam Sharon Van Etten also sings on the track.
