Washington, D.C.’s historically rich punk scene has kicked itself into absolute overdrive in the last year or two, with bands like Priests and Red Death out there walking the earth now. And here’s another example of why you should be paying attention: Pure Disgust, who play fast, feral, authoritative hardcore with elements of old-school British street-punk and N.Y.H.C. thuggery. Chained, the band’s new EP, crams six songs into about 10 minutes and kicks many different varieties of ass. The EP came out yesterday, but I’m only just hearing of it now.
