The New York producer Harry Fraud has one of the most beautifully immersive sounds in rap: A hazy, psychedelic thump that draws on classic rock and old NY boom-bap while still sounding perfectly of-the-moment. Fraud has made tons of tracks for people like French Montana and Action Bronson, and now he’s got his own label, Surf School Recordings. His first signing is the Bronx rapper Daytona, formerly known as the Kid Daytona. Fraud handles all of the production on Daytona’s new mixtape M.I.N.K.S., which features guest appearances from people like Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Chinx, Chunk Inglish, and Smoke DZA.
