Lil Wayne’s name has been attached to a fair number of headlines lately, for better or worse. Weezy and Young Thug have been enmeshed in what Tom calls this year’s “strangest and most high-profile rap feud,” and just last week that somewhat-muted hostility got a lot more attention than it ever should have, after Young Thug’s manager, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, and criminal gang activity under the pretense that he shot at Lil Wayne’s tour bus back in April. Needless to say, Weezy’s got a lot on his mind right now, and maybe participating in a charity basketball game wasn’t a great PR move. While acting as coach of his Young Money team last night, Weezy got into an altercation with a referee. According to XXL, he charged at the man before spitting on him. Ironically, this all happened at a “stop the violence” event. The video below doesn’t show much of the fight, but you can watch an indignant Weezy and his crew storm off of the court.
