Heather Woods Broderick – “Mama Shelter”

Heather Woods Broderick – “Mama Shelter”

Heather Woods Broderick is a gentle, vulnerable singer-songwriter who renders enormous topics into delicate, soulful psych-folk. She’s been touring with Sharon Van Etten as a backup singer for several years and has been a part of groups like Horse Feathers and Efterklang, but is releasing a solo album all her own this summer. “Mama Shelter” is the latest cut off the record, following up “Wyoming” and “A Call For Distance.” It’s more languid than the first two, filled with transitory longing. Smoky and brooding, it features new Death Cab For Cutie member Dave Depper on bass. Listen.
