Watch Members Of Wilco, Shellac, American Football, & More Join Wire On “Pink Flag”

Wire’s classics tend to be terse, minimal constructions that don’t necessarily lend themselves to massive, sprawling all-star superjams. But this past weekend, one of them got the superjam treatment anyway. Wire headlined their won DRILL: CHICAGO festival over the weekend, and we’ve already posted video of them playing “Drill” with St. Vincent. And they also did a massive, extended guitar-orchestra version of “Pink Flag,” inviting an army of guitarists onstage to help beef up the churn. The cast of guests included Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, Shellac’s Bob Weston, American Football’s Mike Kinsella, Joan Of Arc’s Tim Kinsella, Pelican’s Trevor De Brauw, White Mystery’s Alex White, Tweedy’s younger son Sam Tweedy, and a whole pile of others. Watch a fan-made video below.

Shout out to the Metro in Chicago for having a stage large enough to accommodate this grand silliness.
