Zombi is the instrumental Pittsburgh duo of producer Steve Moore and drummer A.E. Paterra, delivering dark progressive tunes that embody horror movie scores. The band has been quiet since their 2011 release Escape Velocity. But they’re returning with a new LP this fall titled Shape Shift. It’s preceded by the track “Pillars Of The Dawn,” which premiered on Noisey. Playing at a little over three minutes, the song incorporates their usual gothic synths with large cinematic effects. The dramatic tones ooze slasher-film creepiness, while the electronic verses create a video game-esque soundtrack that’s fit for a final battle level. Listen below.
