The ongoing feud between Drake and Meek Mill is the biggest story of the summer in certain corners of the internet, but that doesn’t mean it’s making an impact on the public at large. The great stand-up comic (and Drake friend) Hannibal Buress found that out recently, when he addressed their issue on the most recent episode of his new Comedy Central Show Why? With Hannibal Buress. Buress took to the streets of Beverly Hills to ask passersby what they thought of the feud, and most of them hadn’t heard of Meek or Drake. (Shout out to the one lady who thought he was talking about Drake & Josh.) Meanwhile, Buress, who employs Flying Lotus as his in-house DJ, continues to make his show a safe space for deep rap nerdery. As Pitchfork points out, the most recent episode also features the veteran underground rapper Jean Grae performing her 2013 track “Before The Summer Broke,” with backing from FlyLo, Terrance Martin, and Ndidi O. Watch the Drake/Meek bit and the Jean Grae performance below.
Why? With Hannibal Buress airs Wednesdays at 10:30PM eastern on Comedy Central.
