Chris Stapleton’s solo debut Traveller is racking up accolades right and left, probably because it’s one of the best country albums of the year. The Nashville veteran is no stranger to the spotlight, but he has generally been more of a force behind the curtain than a frontman until now. Nearly always accompanied by his wife Morgane Stapleton on harmony and tambourine, he’s already performed light-em-up southern rock anthem “Might As Well Get Stoned” on Seth Meyers, and last night, he took the barn-busting regretful blues of “Nobody To Blame” to Colbert’s expansive stage.
