After covering Bruce Springsteen’s hit “Dancing In The Dark” in both their live shows and in the studio (and crossing it with LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends” while they’re at it), British synthpoppers Hot Chip have another heroic cover under their belt: This time it’s New Order’s La Roux collaboration “Tutti Frutti.” In true Hot Chip style, the track makeover is sprinkled with even more of their trademark vocal layers and hooks. Hot Chip render the New Order track — pulled from recent release Music Complete — even more dancefloor-friendly, dressing it in burbling feel-good techno. The band will release their own new EP Dancing In The Dark later this month.
