The late Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s solo debut Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version turned 20 this year, and his fellow Wu-Tang Clan member RZA is helping ODB’s estate capitalize on that anniversary by lending an unreleased track from those sessions to a portable speaker company. Luckily, the deal with Boombotix, which embeds remixes of “Obey Me” by Shash’U and High Klassified on a limited edition Boombot REX speaker, allows us to hear the song too, via Billboard. RZA shared some memories of recording the song:

He was fuckin’ buggin’ out on this song that night. Dirty felt that anything he made was supposed to be released. I was more critical of what we released. And even though some people may listen to his first album and go, “Shit, this is crazy, this song fits right in.” To me, there was a method to the madness of what we did. And with the stuff that didn’t make the album, there was a clear reason why in the narrative of what I was striving to create with his style.

Dirty is definitely buggin’ out on this one, but then, “buggin’ out” was usually an apt description of Russell Tyrone Jones. Listen to the Shash’U version below.
