Dinosaur Jr. Close Out Anniversary Week With Evan Dando, Kevin Shields, Negative Approach, Lee Ranaldo, Kim Gordon, Stephen McBean, Kurt Vile, Roddy Bottum

Last night, underground rock legends Dinosaur Jr. wrapped up a seven-night stand at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. They’ve had big surprise guests at every one of those shows. But last night, for the end-of-week blowout, they had all the surprise guests. This time around, the list of luminaries onstage included Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando, Faith No More’s Roddy Bottum, Dino Jr. buddy Kurt Vile, Black Mountain ringleader Stephen McBean, former Sonic Youth bandmates Kim Gordon and Lee Ranaldo, and Detroit hardcore overlords Negative Approach. Many of these people showed up onstage more than once, and a whole lot of them raided the stage for the show-ending cover of Neil Young’s “Cortez The Killer.” Watch some Instagram videos from the show below.
