Less than two months after allegedly assaulting a security guard outside of a Los Angeles club, Azealia Banks has gotten herself arrested for assaulting another security guard. Spin reports that the rapper became enraged when she was denied entry to a private party at NYC club Up & Down because the bouncers didn’t recognize her, after which she began “screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing,” and yelling racial slurs, as a source told Page Six. The commotion attracted the attention of the club’s owner, who let her in, but “once she was 15 feet inside she starts to curse at the guards again, explaining who she was, that she’s on Rihanna’s album.” Security approached her again, at which point she allegedly “spit in the [female bouncer’s] face” and then “bites the [female guard] in the breast, almost breaking her shirt” as she was being tossed out. Once outside, Banks announced “I’m gonna call the cops!” and approached a nearby NYPD Traffic Enforcement car, but when she returned to the club entrance with the police, she punched the female bouncer and was immediately arrested on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault. Banks reportedly asked the cops “Why are you arresting me?” as she was being taken away to the precinct, where she was held from early Wednesday morning until Wednesday evening for evaluation.
UPDATE: Banks has been officially charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment, Buzzfeed reports. She has been released from jail, but will obviously have to head to court soon enough.
