Swedish narco-poppers jj have been releasing a steady stream of one-off tracks for the past few months; the last one was “I Wish,” which came out in November. And now they’ve shared a new one called “Paranoid,” another track that shows everything this group does well. It’s both mysterious and nakedly emotional, and even with its pillowy dance-music synths, it feels as warm and intimate as any lo-fi record. There’s also some quasi-rapping near the end. Check it out below.
No word on whether jj have an album or an EP coming out anytime soon, but I kind of hope they just keep releasing a new song whenever inspiration strikes.
