You might not be aware of this, but it’s actually Christmas today! In celebration of that fact, as Pitchfork points out, Lauryn Hill has shared a cover of “A Christmas In Bethlehem,” the Christmas song written in the 1920s and popularized by Nat King Cole on his 1960 album The Magic Of Christmas. According to a press release, Hill’s version of the track is unfinished, but she wanted to share it today anyway, for obvious reasons. Listen and compare it to Nat King Cole’s rendition below.
Lauryn Hill has also just announced two intimate shows in the new year, one at Washington, DC’s Howard Theatre on 1/1 and another at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl on 1/4.
