Whitney – “No Woman” Video

Chicago folk-rockers Whitney are prepping their full-length debut after being newly welcomed to the Secretly Canadian family. The band celebrates today by sharing the lead single “No Woman” and giving it the visual treatment. The song is a wistful breakup excursion, with drummer/vocalist Julien Ehrlich‘s delicate falsetto guiding through the feelings of regret and self-forgiveness he tried to capture with his pen alongside guitarist Max Kakacek. The beautiful arrangement of exultant horns, rhythmic twangy guitar layers, and subtle percussion smoothly soothes. As for the Hugh Donkin-directed visuals, they’re a simple depiction of a brotherly bonding session in the woods, cracking beers, lighting fireworks, and throwing small axes at trees. There is nothing like getting reacquainted with friends to help heal a wounded, tentative heart. Watch below.

Whitney’s debut album is out later this year on Secretly Canadien.
