Watch The Harlem Globetrotters Interrupt Tweedy’s Adele Cover

The Harlem Globetrotters have been doing their thing for almost 100 years now. There aren’t too many places where a visit from the team would be met with disappointment or annoyance — including the El Gato Melendez and Slick Willie Shaw accepted an invite to take over the A.V. Club offices for a couple of hours with the classic Globetrotter shtick of spinning balls and people’s fingers, semi-awkward interactions, and some fancy ball-handling. Everyone in the office seemed to be enjoying themselves, and then they stumbled upon Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy trying to record a cover of Adele’s “Hello.” Tweedy was a great sport, and seemed genuinely happy to see them, spouting a nice little “Hey! Hey!” They had a quick little photo opp while Tweedy spun the ball on his finger and then went along their merry way. Sports and music continue to intersect, but no one quite expected them to cross paths like this. Check it out below.
