Woodstock turns 50 in the summer of 2019, and one of the festival’s original organizers says that there’s been discussion of staging an anniversary concert in celebration. The Poughkeepsie Journal spoke to promoter Michael Lang, who reports that discussions are underway to stage commemorative concerts in various locations. The original Woodstock took place in Sullivan County, NY and drew 400,000 people to Max Yasgur’s family farm. Lang tried to organize a Woodstock 40-year anniversary concert in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, but that didn’t happen.
