Ross From Friends is a deep house DJ/producer who probably is not David Schwimmer, but who can really say? His You’ll Understand EP is coming this summer, and judging from the preview he shared on SoundCloud today, it’s going to be a gorgeously hazy collection of melancholy dance music that lives up to its #Hot Vibes designation on SoundCloud. Lead track “Talk To Me You’ll Understand” steers Burial’s brisk, ghostly dubstep into Miami Vice territory, while closer “Bootman” bridges the gap between DJDS and How To Dress Well. In between is “Gettin’ It Done,” which builds a 4/4 banger out of the warm keyboard wash you’d expect from a chillwave single or a Drake interlude.
