Courtney Love will star alongside Joey King (Fargo, Stonewall) in the forthcoming drama The Possibility Of Fireflies. Set in 1989 in suburban Maryland, the coming-of-age story chronicles Ellie Roma’s (King) struggle to breakout of her not-so-idyllic circumstances to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Eventually, Roma discovers rock n’ roll, and it changes the direction of her life. Love plays Roma’s self-destructive mother. The film is based on Dominique Paul’s 2006 young adult novel, and will be directed by Deborah Chow (The High Cost Of Living). ’80s dramas are familiar territory for Love, who also starred in The People Vs. Larry Flynt and 200 Cigarettes. The Possibility Of Fireflies is in pre-production now and is slated to be released in 2017.
