Kurt Vile stopped by Tom Scharpling and Jon Wurster’s The Best Show last night. As Pitchfork points out, the Philadelphia rocker’s visit to the esteemed New Jersey radio show was highly eventful. Besides performing b’lieve i’m goin down tracks “Pretty Pimpin” and “I’m An Outlaw,” Vile gave an extensive interview that included impressions of Rage Against The Machine’s Zack De La Rocha and Royal Trux’s Jennifer Herrema. Scharpling, who directed Vile’s “KV Crimes” video in 2013, also told the story of when he first met Vile: Apparently Vile and the War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel cornered Scharpling at a Big Star concert and recited old Scharpling and Wurster material at him. Vile’s brother Jelloman also called in.
