Aphex Twin – “2X202-ST5″ & ” CHEETAHT7b”

Aphex Twin is probably the single greatest artist in the history of brain-rearranging electronic music, and he’s about to bless us with a new EP called Cheetah. In the run-up to the new release, he recently dropped his first music video in 17 years, for the track “CIRKLON3 [ ????????? mix ].” And more recently, as Consequence Of Sound points out, BBC Radio 6 has debuted the EP’s closing track “2X202-ST5.” It’s a relatively funky and straightforward old-school electro-house banger, the rare Richard D. James track that could work in an actual club capacity. And since he debuted it on the radio, host Lauren Laverne made a heroic attempt to say its title out loud. To hear it, head over here and jump to the 1:56:28 mark.

UPDATE: Aphex Twin shared another new song today via Beats 1. Hear “CHEETAHT7b” below.

Cheetah is out 7/8 on Warp.
