Metal fans seem bitterly divided over how to feel about Babymetal, that strange and wonderful fusion of Japanese idol pop and classic power metal. But the actual legends of metal — especially the ones named Rob — appear to think these kids are pretty great. Earlier this year, Rob Zombie went to bat for them, even taking on his own Facebook comments section. And this past weekend, at the annual Alternative Press Music Awards in Cleveland, Babymetal shared the stage with Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. Together, they sang the Priest classics “Painkiller” and “Breaking The Law.” Halford and Suzuka Nakamoto scream well together. Watch the performance below and feel good about humanity.
That same awards show also saw Florida metalcore band a Day To Remember sharing the stage with Creed’s Scott Stapp, but, uh, we’re not posting that one.
