Foxes In Fiction – “Extinguisher”

Next month, Orchid Tapes will release Radiating Light: Orchid Tapes & Friends, the New York-based label’s second compilation of artists affiliated with their roster. They announced the compilation in early July with R.L. Kelly’s “Mad,” and today Orchid Tapes co-founder Warren Hildebrand has shared a track from his own project, Foxes In Fiction. “[‘Extinguisher’] was the first song I finished recording after suffering a long period of emotional and creative dormancy,” Hildebrand explained to The FADER, who premiered the song. “I didn’t know what I was doing or where I was going, and I’ve only recently began to feel like I’ve got myself figured out again. The song reflects that fight for any kind of clarity, stability, and joy, and how necessary it is to keep fighting, even when you feel you could just as easily give into self-destruction.” Listen below.

Radiating Light: Orchid Tapes & Friends is out 8/12. Pre-order it here. Boring Ecstasy is also being reissued — you can pre-order that here.
