Purling Hiss – “Fever”

Purling Hiss – “Fever”

The great Philly garage psych-rockers Purling Hiss have announced the followup to 2014’s excellent Weirdon. They hinted at stellar things to come with their Something EP earlier this year, and now they’re ready to unleash the full-length High Bias.

The first taste of the album comes in the form of lead single and opener, “Fever.” It’s a fuzzed-out, skittering thing with guitar layers careening and colliding into each other, fusing together seamlessly like atoms. But within that controlled mayhem are lyrics that look to head straight into the darkness of the myriad of things we’re facing as a country right now with a rebellious spirit and energy that cut through forcefully. This is certainly a nice kickoff to the album. Listen.
