UK rock band the Maccabees have announced that they are breaking up after 14 years together. In that time, the group released four albums — most recently 2015’s Marks To Prove It — and made a lot of fans on the other side of the pond, though that fervor never really made its way stateside. They were nominated for a Mercury Prize for 2012’s Given To The Wild. In a statement, the band said that its members “are all planning to continue making music,” just not with each other. Details about farewell shows will be announced at a later date. Read their message below.
