Frances Bean Cobain Shares 8-Second Jimmy Eat World Cover

Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, technically made her recorded vocal debut on the Evelyn Evelyn song “My Space” along with a host of other famous musicians and celebs, but there were so many others on the song that she was pretty muffled. But yesterday, she gave us a clear glimpse at her singing chops with a super-short cover of the hook from Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle.” It’s only about eight seconds long, but technically it’s her first solo public recording. You can hear a pretty good singing voice, which makes sense given her musical pedigree.

Love responded by reposting the video on Instagram with this message to her daughter as the caption:

I know your father is very proud of this as am I baby, I love you to the moon and back ???? #proudmommy

There’s obviously a lot of pressure on Frances Bean to pursue music, and this will definitely stir the pot a bit, but there aren’t any signs of an album or anything of the sort coming an time soon. If you’re fiending for something from Frances Bean, though, she’s selling her art.
