Jenks Miller plays guitar in the very good North Carolina country-rock band Mount Moriah, but he does even more interesting things on his own. Horseback, Miller’s solo project, started out as a stoner-metal Americana sort of thing, but it’s gradually folded in elements of prog, synthpop, noise, and ’80s sci-fi film scores. It’s awesome, and it’s gotten progressively weirder and better in recent years. Miller’s new album Dead Ringers is probably the best thing he’s yet done as Horseback. We’ve already posted the early single “Shape Of The One Thing,” and right now, you can stream the entire album below, via Noisey.
Dead Ringers is out 8/12 on Relapse.
