The UK duo AlunaGeorge have taken a turn toward dance-pop on recent records, but they started out making sparse, manicured R&B, and they’re back at that sound on their new single. “Mediator” is the latest track we’ve heard from the forthcoming sophomore album I Remember, and it follows the earlier singles “I’m In Control,” “I Remember,” “My Blood,” and “Mean What I Mean.” And on this one, they get into a deep, slinky late-’80s groove that carries at least a few echoes of Sade. It’s a sharp, pretty song, and you can hear it below.
