Joel Ford is a versatile artist. He’s done skillful work in Ford & Lopatin, Young Ejecta, and Autre Ne Veut among a few others, and he’s done so much of it that he probably hasn’t had much time for his solo Airbird project in the four years since the excellent Romance Layers EP. But today, he’s followed that up with another short EP of quirky dance beats entitled No Origin. The three-track offering is robust with off-kilter, synth-soaked soundscapes ranging from booming trip-hop to sparse ambient excursions. Check it out.
