Famed director and composer John Carpenter shared his latest album Lost Themes II this past spring. It’s a dense, lush, ambient adventure that feels like a score just begging for some cinematic visuals to be attached to it — which makes sense considering Carpenter’s history of scoring his own horror and sci-fi films. Today, the track “Utopian Façade” does indeed get a visual accompaniment. A sci-fi adventure unfolds as a white-haired, white-eyed woman battles zombies and three-eyed creatures in a forest. Directors Gavin Hignight and Ben Verhulst ramp the visuals up and down in energy to fit the sweeping, dramatic synths of the track for a compelling movie-like experience. Watch.
Lost Themes II is out now on Sacred Bones.
