Watch Air Play Two Classics On Kimmel

Earlier this year, French space-lounge kings Air released the career-spanning collection Twentyears, and about a month ago, they promoted it by taping a performance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live outdoor festival stage. Somehow, Kimmel only got around to airing that performance last night, but better late than never. On that stage, they performed two of the songs from their 1998 classic Moon Safari, and both of them give me an immediate reflex-memory thing that makes me feel like I’m making out in a dorm room during my freshman year again. On the show proper, they did the gorgeous “Kelly Watch The Stars,” and they played the eight-minute instrumental “La Femme D’Argent” as a bonus online exclusive. They sounded great and wore very nice clothes. And you might even say that, now that they’re a little big older, they look a bit like they sound. It helps a bit for Air to be a tiny bit sleazy, you know? Watch both performances below.

Twentyears is out now on Archaeology/Parlophone.
