Stream Fred Armisen & Bill Hader’s Talking Heads Parody Album

On the most recent episode of their IFC show Documentary Now!, the Saturday Night Live veterans Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, along with old friend Maya Rudolph, staged a full-on parody of the Talking Heads’ classic 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense. We’ve posted clips from the episode, as well as the in-character Seth Meyers performance that they gave. Last night, the episode finally aired. And as Pitchfork points out, it turns out that Hader and Armisen recorded a full-on album in character as the band Test Pattern. A whole album! Eight songs! They really went to all that trouble! This is actually the second parody album that Hader and Armisen have made; last year, they went all ’70s soft-rock as the Blue Jean Committee. Below, listen to Final Transmission, the Test Pattern live album.
