Peter Morén, the man who puts the Peter in Peter Bjorn And John, has been making Swedish-language solo albums on the side for quite some time. He’s been quiet since 2012’s Pyramiden, but in the interim he took choice cuts from that album and 2010’s I spåren av tåren and coverted them to English for two EPs titled Broken Swenglish Volumes 1 & 2. Today, he’s back with a video for his first original material in Swedish in four years, “Rytmen i blodet,” which translates to “the rhythm of blood” in English. The song is a groovy meld of pop, funk, and a little disco. As for the video, it’s more of the fun dorkiness that we’ve come to expect from Morén. It’s a playful distraction from waiting for election results. Check it out.
“Rytmen i blodet” is out now, here.
