Michael Bell, one half of the long-running instrumental electronic duo Lymbyc System along with his brother Jared, has passed away. “Last week I lost my brother, my bandmate, my creative partner, Michael,” Jared writes in a post on the band’s official Facebook page. I love him. I miss him. Thank you to everyone for listening, supporting and keeping his memory alive. He was so, so lucky to have all of you.” He was 35.

The two brothers formed Lymbyc Systym in their Tempe, Arizona hometown in 2001, releasing their first EP together in 2005. They have since toured with Broken Social Scene, This Will Destroy You, the Album Leaf, Crystal Castles, Foxing, and more. Their most recent release, the New Varieties EP, came out in August.
