Brooklyn trio EZTV dropped their latest LP High In Place a little less than two months ago. It’s a skillful, balanced display of pop-like sensibilities weaved throughout vintage psych and throwback folk. One of the more decidedly folk-leaning tracks is “Reason To Run,” and today they’ve given it a very fitting set of visuals. Mirroring the trio’s ability to mesh rural, country-tinged twang with more cosmopolitan pop craft, we find a cowboy wandering the streets of NYC looking for a place where he feels he belongs. He wanders through different neighborhoods of the city before he finally finds a square-dancing class and cracks a huge, charismatic smile. Director Chelsea Burcz’s vision encompasses the song’s message and the trio’s aesthetic perfectly. Check it out.
High In Place is out now on Captured Tracks.
