Dear Reader – “I Know You Can Hear It” Video

South African singer-songwriter Cherilyn MacNeil makes beautiful, expansive indie pop under the name Dear Reader. Today she’s announced the John Vanderslice-produced Day Fever, the followup to 2013’s underrated We Followed Every Sound. In tandem with the announcement comes the lead single, “I Know You Can Hear It,” along with a set of visuals. The song is a shimmering, dreamy excursion, winding in and out of crunchy guitar lines and glimmering synths as MacNeil’s voice floats effortlessly above. As for the Annikki Heinemann-directed video, it’s a mystifying story of four magical entities that bring a man that has washed ashore back to life, transforming him to an otherworldly being himself. Check it out below via The Line Of Best Fit.
