Grammar – “Michigan”

Grammar – “Michigan”

Grammar is a Massachusetts-based electro pop group led by multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter Barrie Lindsay. We’ve already heard the twinkling, iridescent “Americana,” the first single from their upcoming debut EP. Today, they share the followup “Michigan,” in which they shape synths into a different but equally engaging aesthetic. A slow-building intro subtly bursts into a multi-layered bed of synth-work, atmospheric sweeps, and cleverly syncopated drums for Lindsay’s gauzy vocal to lay on gently. The song sneaks into a powerful crescendo on the earworm hook that registers with a guileful potency. This is the second track of four on the EP, and I already wish there were more. Check it out below.

There’s no release date for Grammar’s debut EP as of yet.
