Kendrick Lamar has been known to bring the occasional fan onstage to show off their rap skills. And near the end of his American Express-sponsored show at New York’s Music Hall Of Williamsburg last night, he invited three different audience members up to the stage to rap for him.
The first guy whiffed pretty hard, getting booed off the stage after a terrible freestyle. The second challenger fared much better, trading bars with Kendrick over a boom-bap beat and hyping up the crowd. Finally, a guy who’s apparently an actual rapper named Kemba closed things out with an a cappella performance. Watch below; the audience participation segment gets going at around 22:45.
