We didn’t know how good we had it. Late last night, around the same time that the Senate voted to gut the Affordable Care Act, Michelle Obama made her final appearance as First Lady on The Tonight Show. Comedy gods Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld showed up to help see her off, and so did living legend Stevie Wonder, Michelle’s favorite musician of all time. Wonder has made countless appearances alongside the Obamas, but there was still something powerful in seeing Wonder, with the Roots backing him up, singing “Isn’t She Lovely” and “My Cherie Amour” and changing the words so that they’d be about Michelle.
