The trap sound definitely is too prevalent in contemporary rap, but that’s just my opinion.

I just wonder if there are any other subgenres that are so tightly tied to a single set of sounds produced by a single instrument. (And the 808 is capable of much greater sonic variety than what I’ve heard on most trap tracks, BTW, although it’s still pretty limited even compared to the 909.) I don’t think Bakersfield-style country is as tightly tied to the Fender Telecaster as trap is to one particular set of 808 sounds. Anyone have any other ideas?

Trump: Incredibly disappointment right from the beginning. Long term results – TBD. More than likely awful. But at this point TBD
