LCD Soundsystem made a grand return on Christmas Eve 2015 and spent most of last year touring on the excitement surrounding their reunion. In James Murphy’s note explaining why the old gang was getting back together so soon after they called it quits, he said that he was working on a new album set to come out in 2016. Well, 2016 came and went (and was awful), and still no LCD Soundsystem album! But we’re still anticipating it, and it looks like some progress is being made.

In a comment on the official LCD Facebook page, whoever runs the account (presumably Murphy himself), had this to say regarding news on the new album: “sure. still working on it, but it’ll be done soon. winter tends to mess with my voice, so finishing the thing drags out.” He also responded to someone the next day reiterating that he was still plugging away at it.

So hopefully we’ll get some new material soon! The band is playing Forecastle Festival in July, and presumably a few more unannounced festival dates throughout the season.
