This spring, Josh Tillman is coming back with Pure Comedy, his third album under his Father John Misty moniker. We’ve already heard the title track and “Two Wildly Different Perspectives,” and now Tillman has also shared “Ballad Of The Dying Man,” a lovely folk-rock ramble with a typically cutting lyric. This one concerns the things that go through a man’s brain as he’s getting ready to leave his mortal life behind, all the petty grievances that will go unresolved. It’s got a lovely slow-build arrangement that eventually includes a whole wailing choir. Check it out below.
Pure Comedy is out 4/7 on Sub Pop.
