Last year, California’s Kevin Abstract released American Boyfriend, an album of lush, personal, idiosyncratic R&B. Today, he’s made a video for “Runner,” a song from that album, and it’s a pretty amazing piece of work. Abstract directed the video himself, filming himself and his friends with a lovely softly-lit glow. And the clip tells the story of what happens when a teenage-boy group hang takes a tragic turn.
