Last month, Timothy Showalter, the Midwestern singer-songwriter behind the band Strand Of Oaks, transformed himself into a full-on rocker for the release of Hard Love, his ass-kicker of a new album. And last night, Showalter got a chance to show off what he can do on Conan, where he played two different songs. On the show itself, Showalter and his band bashed their way through the Bob Seger-esque “Rest Of It.” And as an online bonus, Showalter also played a tender solo-electric version of the single “Radio Kids.” Showalter has an intense presence, and he looks like the type of guy who would break a bottle over your face in a movie barfight. People should put him on TV more often. Watch both performances below.
