Back in the ’90s, the Virginia producer Timbaland introduced a spaced-out, synthy sound that absolutely changed the entire aesthetic for radio-friendly rap and R&B. In recent months, Timbo has been busy again, working with younger artists like the SoundCloud rapper Ski Mask The Slump God. And today, Timbaland has teamed up with the Atlanta R&B singer 6LACK for a new single called “Grab The Wheel.” The song is fairly rote and streamlined, and it has none of the extraterrestrial weirdness of Timbaland’s best work. But it’s good to see him working anyway! Listen to it below.
