C’mon guys, are we all really too mature to make a “Cochella Refuses To Give Kanye Dome” joke?

Can we take a moment to appreciate that Tom is writing one of these EVERY GOD DAMN DAY and they all turn out good? Like, every single entry has something insightful and original to say about songs that have been written and talked about for decades.

Sorry. I have a seven-year-old. Her humor is rubbing off on me.

LOL @ the notion that Halcyon Digest, one of the albums of thee decade, wouldn’t have deserved AOTW (although I don’t think AOTW had been established yet in 2010)

Kayne is pathetic, and you, yes YOU Stereogum, are more pathetic for continuing to give this man coverage.

None of those Deerhunter albums would’ve gotten AOTW, though. Not one. Not close.

The Steve Gunn album is really good, and I had him and SVE neck-and-neck for a while.

It was an unannounced concert at First Avenue right after Controversy was released. I was at my favorite record store Hot Licks, and Ryan told me that “Controversy” was playing that night and I’d better not miss it. It cost me an unbelievable $1.92 and while standing in line people were asking what the line was for. Some didn’t take the bait, sad for them.

The highlight, Prince’s dad was in the crowd so he apologized to him, and then played Jack U Off. Next best Prince concert, his birthday concert of 1984 where he played nothing but unreleased material.
